Bunk Room TV + Chromecast with Google TV

Procedures for Use of Sony TV and Chromecast with Google TV

Note: The Chromecast Remote cannot turn on this TV and operate the volume control

Connections
  • If the TV does not come on connected to the HDMI-2 source, use the TV remote Source button to scroll through input sources to the HMDI-2 port
  • The Chromcast is plugged into an HDMI splitter device which in turn is plugged into HDMI 2 port.
  • There is a button on the Splitter that will cycle through the inputs. Each button push causes it to cycle to next input. Use this button to select the input to the Chromecast - the associated LED will light;
  • The Chromecast is plugged into the HMDI Splitter which is connected to the TV HDMI-2 port.
  • The TV should be left with the HDMI-2 port connected as the Source.

To turn on TV and start streaming service:

  1. Use TV Remote to turn on TV
  2. Use Chromecast Remote to turn on Chromecast unit.
  3. TV should come on with the Chormecast - Google TV Home screen showing
  4. Use Chromecast Remote selector control to move to the desired App in the top list
  5. Push center of controller to select desired App

For Live TV Streams
  1. Select YouTubeTV App on the Chomecast
  2. Use remote selector control to move right on top line of options to Live and Select
  3. A list of live streaming options appears.
  4. Use controller to move down to the desired channel and Select

Use of DVD
  1. Press Power button on DVD to turn on the player.
  2. Use TV remote to power on the TV
  3. Use the HDMI input select button to scroll through to the DVD input.
  4. Insert DVD to begin watching video
  5. When done use the HDMI Splitter button to scroll through input sources to the Chromecast
  6. Power off TV and DVD units

Troubleshooting
  • If TV does not work as indicated above, unplug the GoogleTV device, wait about 30 second, reconnect, then follow the above instructions.
